Harmon Construction was founded in 2018, after Tyrone Harmon left his position as Vice President of RJ Leeper Construction Company.

Having the experience of seeing the insides and outs of the construction industry, Harmon was given the inspiration to start his own company, changing the fact that there are not many minority-owned companies that will do housing: multi-family or single-family. Ty witnessed the affordable housing issue firsthand, by seeing his own mother passing away at the age of 57 having never been able to own a home.

Ty wanted to change this for his Charlotte community and has not only focused on housing for the community but also education buildings, commercial and community properties.
